Sen. Kelly on economic report: “CT must do better.”

March 31, 2023

Senate Republican Leader Kevin Kelly (R-Stratford) today issued the following statement regarding a U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis report which shows that Connecticut’s economy increased 2.4% in 2022 following a 4.2% increase in 2021. Connecticut’s 0.1% economic growth increase in the fourth quarter ranks the state 48th nationally and sixth among the six New England states.

“Connecticut must do better.  Senate Republicans have proposed better way solutions to lower health care costs while making our state more prosperous, more affordable, and more accountable.  We hope our common sense, achievable ideas will gain support from majority Democrats. We owe it to the overtaxed families of Connecticut to pass policies which stimulate economic growth, and we must respect the sacrifices of the taxpayers.”
