Domestic Violence Awareness Month – Help & Resources
October 2, 2022
Each year we recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
One in four women and one in seven men will experience domestic violence in their lifetimes.
Here in Connecticut nearly 40,000 survivors are served each year by our state’s 18 local domestic violence organizations.
Intimate partner violence is underreported and underrecognized. One way we can work to change this is by encouraging screening for intimate partner violence as part of preventative health visits with your physician.
Screening can help connect survivors with lifesaving resources and lead to better health outcomes.
If you or someone you know needs help, you can call, text, chat, or email with a certified advocate 24/7. All services are confidential, safe, free and voluntary.
