September 30, 2022

Senate Republican Leader Kevin Kelly (R-Stratford) released the following statement in response today’s release of the second quarter GDP and personal income growth data by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, which indicates that real gross domestic product decreased 4.7% in Connecticut during the second quarter of 2022, one of the steepest declines in the nation:

“For anyone with their feet planted in the middle class, this confirms what we already know and why our groceries, gas and cost of living are becoming more unaffordable. There is a better way than the Democrat policies and the Biden economy that clearly aren’t working for our families. CT Republicans proposed achievable and common sense solutions that will create better paying jobs, develop our workforce to meet the labor shortage, make Connecticut more affordable, and reduce the taxes you pay to a government that isn’t working for you. There is a better way to help all people succeed and put Connecticut back on track. Read our plans at betterwayct.com.”
