Sen. Cicarella Applauds State Approval of Funding for Gaylord Specialty Healthcare of Wallingford

July 29, 2022

State Sen. Paul Cicarella (R-34) applauded the State Bond Commission’s approval of a $4.5 million state investment in Gaylord Specialty Healthcare in Wallingford. The state funds are a grant-in-aid for Gaylord Specialty Healthcare to replace its current electronic medical record system. The funding was approved at today’s State Bond Commission meeting.

Senator Cicarella said, “During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Gaylord stepped up to help the state relieve the strain on ICU beds by transferring Covid patients to Gaylord Hospital. Two years later, they continue to help those stricken by Covid and lead the way with a groundbreaking Covid-19 program. This updated electronic medical records system will allow Gaylord to provide even better patient care and facilitate more timely communications with other healthcare systems.”
