Is one of only 48 state government officials across the U.S. to participate in nation’s premier leadership development program for state leaders

State Sen. Eric Berthel (R-Watertown) was recently named to the Council of State Governments (CSG) distinguished Henry Toll Fellowship program, which is the nation’s premier leadership development opportunity for state leaders. Senator Berthel is one of only 48 state government officials across the U.S. to be chosen for this selective bipartisan program.

He will join the other elected and appointed officials from the executive, legislative and judicial branches from 32 states at CSG’s headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky at the end of August for an intensive, five-day leadership boot camp. As a Toll Fellow, Senator Berthel was selected based on his demonstrated commitment to solve problems, to work collaboratively to accomplish goals and his belief that state government must be a force for the good of the public.

“This is a tremendous honor. I’m most looking forward to this opportunity as a way to find new, effective ways to be a voice for the families of the 32nd District and contribute to a Connecticut government that works for them,” said Senator Berthel.
