Sens. Berthel and Kelly, Rep. Klarides-Ditria, First Selectwoman Drugonis, TEAM Inc. Hosting Feminine Product Donation Drive

June 23, 2022

SEYMOUR – State Rep. Nicole Klarides-Ditria, State Senators Kevin Kelly and Eric Berthel, and Seymour First Selectwoman Annmarie Drugonis announced they are partnering with TEAM Inc. to host a feminine product drive for in-need area women from June 22nd through July 6th.

“Right now, with possible shortages of these necessary feminine products being reported, it’s more important than ever that we come together to help area women who need access to these supplies,” Rep. Klarides-Ditria (R-105) said. “With inflation and supply issues also pushing prices higher it’s even harder for those who are already struggling financially to afford menstruation products. I hope you will join me in supporting Valley women by making a donation.”

“Please consider donating anything you can to help TEAM, Inc.’s partners across the Valley. Prices are rising on these items as a shortage continues. We appreciate the public rallying together to help those in need,” said Senator Eric Berthel (R-32) said.

“As our nation struggles with a shortage in menstrual products and rising prices, we are working to support the great efforts of those at TEAM, Inc. focused on helping people in our community access necessities during these difficult times,” Senate Republican Leader Kevin Kelly (R-21) said.

“Having access to free menstruation products can be a life-changer for a woman,” First Selectwoman Drugonis said. “Neighbors helping neighbors is how we take care of the entire community and I’m happy to be a part of this important drive with the state delegation to help women across the Valley.”

Additionally, it has been proven that the availability of period supplies helps students stay in school, with 1 in 4 teens in the US having missed class due to lack of access to period supplies. In Connecticut, 40% of female students in public school grades 7 to 12 attend Title I Eligible schools.
