Sen. Champagne Announces CTDOT Roadwork

April 20, 2022

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announced today that TWO projects will be taking place over the next few weeks in the 35th District.

1.) Resurfacing project will be performed on a 1.29-mile segment of Route 6 in Hampton.

The resurfacing segment for this project is anticipated to be performed on Monday, April 25, 2022, through Friday, April 29, 2022.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2022 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 6 from the Chaplin/Hampton Town Line to West Old Route 6 in Hampton.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.

The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.

2.) Pavement Rehabilitation Project on Interstate I-84 through the towns of Tolland, Willington, and Vernon.

This project will impact both the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway. Design plans will be completed in May 2022 and, as long as the funding, plans and other permitting occurs, the work is anticipated to begin late in the summer.
