Public Hearing Alert: Do you want a Safer Connecticut?

Violent crime is rising across Connecticut, and it’s past time for lawmakers to make our state safer for every resident.

CT Senate Republicans are advocating for a plan that includes justice reforms to improve crime responsesupport law enforcement, and remove barriers to intervention services, as well as policies to address the root causes of crime including issues related to trauma, education, housing and jobs.

The public can now weigh in by submitting written testimony, or speaking at an upcoming virtual hearing.

  2. In the Subject Line write, “I support Senate Bill 305. I support a Safer CT.”
  3. Include your name and town

Testify at a Virtual Public Hearing

On Wednesday, March 9th at 10AM:

The CT General Assembly’s Judiciary Committee will hold a public hearing on our proposals to Support Police and Safe Communities, including:

  • Law enforcement recruitment
  • Proactive policing support
  • Expand explorer programs to build better relationships between young people and our officers
