COMMERCIAL FISHING LICENSE RENEWAL DEADLINE REMINDER – March 31, 2022

Notice to Commercial Fishermen

Public Act 15-52, which went into effect on January 1, 2016, requires commercial limited access (moratorium) licenses to be renewed annually by March 31st. License applications MUST BE RECEIVED OR POSTMARKED BY MARCH 31st. The law also requires a Commercial Fishing Vessel Permit to be purchased annually for the primary vessel identified on a limited access (moratorium) license for the license to remain eligible for renewal in the future. Quota Managed Species Endorsements– for fluke, scup, black sea bass and hand harvest of horseshoe crabs – also require annual renewal by March 31 st. The fee is $15 per species.

REQUIREMENTS, YOUR 2022 LICENSE RENEWAL(S) WILL NOT BE PROCESSED PER CGS SECTION 26-142a.** If you are unsure of your current reporting status or require additional commercial fisheries catch logs or report forms, please contact DEEP Marine Fisheries using one of the methods outlined below.
