Somers to Host Thursday, Feb. 3 Meeting for Groton, Stonington, N. Stonington Residents

Sen. Heather Somers, R-18th District, will host a virtual Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. that will allow residents of Groton, Stonington, and North Stonington to ask questions about the upcoming session of the Connecticut General Assembly.

“I’m looking forward to hearing from the taxpayers of Groton, Stonington and North Stonington,” Sen. Somers said. “There is much to be done in the upcoming session, and I want to do all I can to help improve the quality of life in our communities.”

Sen. Somers is the Ranking Senator on the legislature’s Public Health Committee and Transportation Committee, as well as the former chairwoman of the Communications Subcommittee of the state’s Vaccine Advisory Task Force.  She recently unveiled a comprehensive plan to address the urgent need for mental health services in Connecticut.

The legislative session runs from Feb. 9 to May 4.
