Sen. Champagne, Rep. Ackert Honor Veterans Day at Coventry Senior Center

State Senator Dan Champagne and State Representative Tim Ackert were joined Wednesday at the Coventry Senior Center by local veterans and residents to celebrate Veterans Day one day early.

Their remarks touched upon the value a veteran’s service can have to their community, even after they have left the military – as exemplified by the hard work of local veterans to support the Coventry Senior Center and its enriching activities.

Both state lawmakers are also veterans of military service: Rep. Ackert served in the United States Air Force, while Sen. Champagne served our nation in the Connecticut Army National Guard.
