Domestic Violence Awareness Month #Every1KnowsSome1
October 5, 2021
Each year we recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Here in Connecticut nearly 40,000 survivors reach out each year for help from our state’s 18 local domestic violence organizations.
Domestic violence isn’t just physical, it also includes coercive control through actions such as isolation, intimidation, financial control, and more.
Anyone, regardless of gender, race, sexual identity or orientation, or socio-economic status, can experience domestic violence.
Everyone knows someone.
One isn’t just a number, it’s SOMEONE – a family member, a neighbor, a coworker, a friend.
If you or someone you know needs help, you can call, text, chat, or email with a certified advocate 24/7. All services are confidential, safe, free and voluntary. CTSafeConnect.org (888) 774-2900

Domestic violence affects all of us, and all of us must be part of the solution.
