Senator Witkos Gives Heads Up To Farmington Route 4 Commuters – Detour To Take Effect July 12th

July 6, 2021

Hartford, CT – State Senator Kevin Witkos (R-Canton) is advising area residents that a construction project on Route 4 in Farmington will result in a detour through Avon and will impact travel for drivers.

The project, replacing a water main, will be completed by the Connecticut Water Company and will result in a detour between West Avon Road and Brickyard Road.  The detour will be in place Monday-Friday, 7:00am-5:00pm and is expected to last until the end of August.   The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 12th.

“Many 8th District residents utilize Route 4 through Farmington during their daily commutes and will surely be impacted by this detour, as will residents living along the detour route through Avon.  I encourage all residents to plan accordingly and to be mindful of all traffic changes, and as always, to be cautious when traveling through construction zones” said Senator Witkos.
