Sen. Kissel: “We did not elect a King.”

July 2, 2021

For Immediate Release:

Sen. John A. Kissel, R-Enfield, today announced he will not support an attempt to extend the governor’s emergency executive powers by another six months.
“We did not elect a King,” Sen. Kissel said. “An extension of the governor’s executive powers is unnecessary. I will be a strong ‘no’ vote and I urge my fellow lawmakers to join me in voting ‘no’. This is not a monarchy.”
The Connecticut General Assembly will meet in two weeks to consider extending the governor’s emergency powers.
