Sen. Sampson comments on the newly-announced $1000 signing bonus for CT residents to return to work

May 26, 2021

“This is an outright slight to the many Connecticut residents who have been steadily working throughout the pandemic who did not allow a government handout to supplant their need to be a productive member of society, particularly at-risk frontline workers.  Doling out signing bonuses as incentives and government policies that make living off unemployment more lucrative than getting a job have set our state on a dangerous track.  We should be focused on improving Connecticut’s economic competitiveness and creating opportunities that empower those looking for work,” said Sen. Rob Sampson (R-Wolcott)
