Milling & Resurfacing Projects Announced

The Department of Transportation has announced two upcoming milling & resurfacing projects are to begin in the coming days. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in the vicinity of these areas.

Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 318 in Barkhamsted
  • The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.47-mile segment of Route 318 from Route 44 to Route 181.
  • The milling portion of the project is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, May 5, 2021
  • The resurfacing portion of the project is scheduled to occur from Monday May 17, 2021 and be completed on Thursday May 20, 2021.
  • Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating traffic. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
  • The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Monday through Friday).

 

Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 219 in New Hartford
  • The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.14-mile segment of Route 219 from US Route 44 to the overpass – east branch Farmington river.
  • The milling portion of the project is scheduled to occur from Tuesday,  May 11, 2021, to Wednesday, May 12, 2021.
  • The resurfacing portion of the project is scheduled to occur from Monday, May 24, 2021, to Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
  • Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating traffic. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
  • The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Monday through Friday).
