Future Funding Available for Homeowners Affected by Crumbling Foundations
December 8, 2020Encouraged to begin the process now and apply for future funding.
The Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company has now opened its electronic portal for owners to file a “Pending” claim. I will be working with the Crumbling Foundation Caucus to secure additional funding in 2021 during the upcoming legislative session. However, officials are encouraging those affected to get into the system as soon as possible.
The funding comes from the State Bond Commission as well as a surcharge levied against all Connecticut homeowners. The Crumbling Foundation Caucus is also looking at additional funding sources.
The Crumbling Foundation Caucus will also be looking to move the program sunset date from June 2022 to June 2030. The caucus is working on several other solutions as well.
