Senator Witkos Hails Approval of STEAP Grants for 8th District Towns

November 9, 2020

Hartford, CT – Senator Kevin Witkos has hailed the recent announcement of Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP) funding for several 8th District towns.  The Small Town Economic Assistance Program funds economic development, community conservation and quality-of-life capital projects for localities that are ineligible to receive Urban Action bonds.  This program is managed by the Office of Policy and Management, and the grants are administered by various state agencies.

“STEAP is an immensely important program that helps many of our small towns complete important projects with state assistance. I have been a vocal proponent of this program for several years and was pleased to have supported these projects.  It is vital that the State of Connecticut support our small towns with these types of programs and I am grateful for the investment being made to so many 8th District towns” said Senator Witkos.
