Senator Witkos Highlights National Small Business Week

September 23, 2020

Hartford, CT – State Senator Kevin Witkos (R-Canton) is highlighting National Small Business Week and encouraging individuals to shop local and support small businesses.

“National Small Business Week is a wonderful opportunity for individuals to recognize and support the many small businesses throughout Connecticut and the 8th District.  From restaurants, retail stores, and more, small businesses are integral to our local and state economy.   In addition, many small businesses proudly support local non profits and various fundraising drives that so many local groups rely upon.  It is vital that we support small businesses not just during the holiday season, but year-round as well” said Senator Witkos.

“National Small Business Week takes on even more meaning this year due to the challenges brought upon by Covid-19.  Small businesses have had to adapt and work to overcome challenges none of us have ever seen before while still facing an uncertain future.  I’m proud to support small businesses and it’s one of the reasons I began my Local Business Spotlight Tour last year which highlighted various businesses throughout the district” added Senator Witkos.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, National Small Business Week has been celebrated for the past 50 years to recognize the critical contributions of America’s Entrepreneurs and small business owners.  More information can be found here:  https://www.sba.gov/national-small-business-week
