Martin & Devlin Invite Former Port Authority Employees, Consultants and Comptroller to Informational Forum

November 21, 2019

HARTFORD – Ranking Members of the General Assembly’s Transportation Committee, Senator Henri Martin and Representative Laura Devlin, have invited former Connecticut Port Authority employees, consultants and the State Comptroller to attend an informational forum taking place on December 4, 2019 to further examine and discuss issues that have come to light involving the Port Authority in recent months.

The ranking members extended invitations to Comptroller Kevin Lembo, Gerri Lewis, Andrew Lavigne, Diane Wolff and Cassandra Berthiaume.

Sen. Martin and Rep. Devlin thanked the committee co-chairs for inviting Scott Bates, Evan Matthews and Bonnie Reemsnyder to participate in the discussion, and emphasized the importance of also extending the invitation to the additional five individuals.

“We feel strongly that in addition to these three individuals, the Transportation Committee should also extend invitations to Comptroller Kevin Lembo, Gerri Lewis, Andrew Lavigne, Diane Wolff and Cassandra Berthiaume,” wrote Martin and Devlin to the co-chairs. “In order to restore the public’s trust in the Port Authority, it is important to invite former Port Authority leaders, employees, associates, and state officials with knowledge of the Port Authority’s reporting to fully assess the situation and hear from all sides. We need all voices at the table to fully understand the issues so we can best address them and rebuild public confidence.”

Comptroller Kevin Lembo has previously raised concerns that the Port Authority misreported financial information. Gerri Lewis is the former office manager for the Port Authority. Andrew Lavigne is a former consultant who was later hired as the Manager of Business Development and Special Projects at the Port Authority. Diane Wolff was hired by the Port Authority as a human resources consultant. Cassandra Berthiaume worked as a fiscal administrative assistant at the Port Authority.
