Senator Witkos Recognizes Camp Workcoeman 95th Anniversary

August 5, 2019

Senator Kevin Witkos recently visited Boy Scout Camp Workcoeman in New Hartford to present a citation recognizing the 95th anniversary of the camp.  The camp was established in 1924 and is one of the oldest continuously operated scout camps in the country.  The camp hosts campers from Cub Scout troops and Boy Scouts for summer camp where scouts take part in a variety of activities and work to earn merit badges.

“I was so pleased to help recognize this momentous occasion for Camp Workcoeman.  Since its inception in 1924, Camp Workcoeman has been an integral part of scouting for thousands of individuals.  The skills, knowledge, and memories that scouts gain from their time at Camp Workcoeman is invaluable.  All staff, past and present, should be commended for the dedication and enthusiasm they impart on the camp” said Senator Witkos.
