State Senator Rob Sampson Reacts to Governor Lamont’s Budget Address

February 20, 2019

“Everything Governor Lamont said today could have come from the mouth of his predecessor.” said Sen. Sampson. “I didn’t hear any spending cuts mentioned. I only heard plans for more taxes and more burdens on my constituents. This isn’t the bold change Lamont promised during the campaign. Enacting this plan would result in even more people leaving Connecticut and yet another budget deficit two years from now.

“The only thing which can save Connecticut is a new direction, a real attempt to grow our economy by making a better environment for businesses to create jobs, and for people of all means to prosper. The answer is less spending, lower taxes, less regulations, and more liberty.”
