February 15, 2019Proposals Aim to Make Health Care Affordable and Accessible, Improve Child Welfare, and Strengthen Public Safety
Hartford – Today members of the Connecticut Senate Republican Caucus detailed a group of legislative proposals aimed at improving health care and public safety in the state of Connecticut.
The proposals seek to make health care more affordable and accessible, improve child welfare policies to protect and help the most vulnerable, and provide treatment for youthful offenders to help them turn their lives around and discourage dangerous, criminal behavior.
The proposals were outlined today by Senate Republicans as the third group of 2019 legislation the caucus is highlighting to improve Connecticut.
Senator Kevin Kelly introduced a bill to reduce health insurance premiums by creating a state reinsurance program.
“One of the most pressing issues facing Connecticut residents is the high cost of health care. Lawmakers need to work together to reduce these costs, just as we’ve worked together to protect insurance coverage for core health services.”
Republican proposals highlighted today include the following.
