Craig Floyd, farm manager of the Coogan Farm Giving Garden, was recently recognized for his service in and out of the garden with a citation from the Connecticut General Assembly.
State Sen. Heather Somers, R-Groton, and state Rep. Diana Urban, D-North Stonington, recognized Floyd for his 20 years of service in the Air Force and his work in the Giving Garden, which this year has produced more than 10,000 pounds of vegetables to feed families in need.
Garden staff and volunteers and members of the Eastern Connecticut Community Gardens Association were in attendance to honor Floyd.
