Malloy’s policies drove longtime resident out of state
(Waterbury Republican-American Letter to the Editor)
Having been a resident of Connecticut for 49 years and having experienced the repercussions of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s policies, I decided to move out of state.
This decision was not made lightly.
Friends and family had to be left behind in order to have some chance at success in this short life.
Restarting a small business also was a major concern.
The move was made to Massachusetts.
I’m sure you’re asking, “Why ‘Taxachusetts’?”
The answer is, I am thriving.
Insurance is cheaper, taxes are lower, and there actually is some sense of a future for my family and me.
It’s been many, many years since I had this feeling in Connecticut.
I only convey this because recently, as I sat in a quiet little restaurant in a tiny town on Cape Cod, Gov. Malloy was sitting across from me drinking a glass of wine with two guards, surely paid for by the residents of Connecticut.
Protecting the governor from what, I do not know.
I contemplated approaching Gov. Malloy as I thought of those who could not afford wine, security, or at least a vacation, but thought better of it.
There is nothing anyone can say that can persuade the entitlement he enjoys!
