Metro-North Plans Extra Getaway Trains for Labor Day Weekend

As we gear up for Labor Day Weekend, Metro-North is planning some extra getaway trains and a few schedule changes for the long weekend – see updates below.

Friday, August 31st

On Friday, there are 17 extra “getaway” departures from Grand Central Terminal between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Some late PM peak trains will be canceled / combined due to reduced ridership in this time period. All extra and canceled trains are shown in the current timetable.

Saturday, September 1st, to Monday, September 3rd (Labor Day)

On Saturday and Sunday, a regular weekend schedule will be in effect. On Monday, a Sunday schedule will be in effect on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines. Please note that Grand Central North will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
