‘Discover Outdoor Connecticut’ Photo Contest

July 30, 2018

Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is inviting the public to send in their best wildlife photos in the state to win a variety of prizes.

DEEP’s ‘Discover Outdoor Connecticut’ Photo Contest is looking for amazing wildlife and nature photographs.

Photographers from any state may participate, but all submitted photos must have been taken in Connecticut.

Photographers may enter one photo in each of these categories:

  • Wildlife (including fish and insects)
  • People outside enjoying nature
  • Scenic landscapes and flora

Judges will select first, second, and third place winners for each category, plus winners in a separate youth category for kids ages 15 and younger.
All submitted photos will be displayed at DEEP’s Discover Outdoor Connecticut Day, which is scheduled for September 22, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at DEEP’s Franklin Swamp Wildlife Management Area, 391 Route 32, in North Franklin. During the event, a “People’s Choice” award will be selected by popular vote.
Contest entries are by mail only, and must be postmarked by September 1. For a full list of rules and mailing instructions, visit DEEP online
