Sen. Kissel Releases Statement Re: Tolls in Connecticut
May 2, 2018HARTFORD, Conn. – Today State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) released the following statement regarding the proposal of the installation of tolls across the state of Connecticut and comments by the Speaker of the House regarding the lack of support for the concept of tolling Connecticut highways.
“I have been a staunch advocate against tolls for many years,” said Sen. Kissel. “I continue to stand by this as tolls are just another tax on the hard-working families of Connecticut. The fact that tolls will not be brought up for a vote in the House continues to show the lack of support for this tax, and continues to show that the will of the residents of Connecticut will prevail, for now. Over the past few years Connecticut families and businesses have had to endure the largest tax increases in Connecticut’s history – that stops here. The residents have spoken and they have said, ‘No Tolls’ – I echo this sentiment and look forward to continuing to discuss how we can improve Connecticut’s infrastructure through budget prioritization.”
