Senator Martin, Representative Piscopo Tour State-of-the-Art Thomaston Manufacturer

ThomastonState Senator Henri Martin (R-31) and State Representative John Piscopo (R-76) recently toured Ward Leonard Electronics Company in Thomaston. The 125-year-old company showed off the 7,200-square-foot addition to its facility and its new, precision machining center.

“Ward Leonard showed us the future of manufacturing with its newest machine,” Sen. Martin said. “It is efficient. It is precise, and for me, the best part is knowing that this machine will allow the company to bring jobs from overseas back to Thomaston. This is a company that is growing and investing in Connecticut’s future.”

Ward Leonard received a $900,000 loan for the state Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) in support of the company’s expansion and modernization efforts.

“I appreciated the time that the folks at Ward Leonard spent with us during the reception, facility tour and informational meeting. This company continues to be an exemplary local manufacturer who remains a key industry player for well over a century while continuing to expand and make tremendous contributions to our hometown and our state,” said Rep. Piscopo.

Ward Leonard recently invested $2.2 million in it Thomaston facility and expects to add 20 new positions.
