Senator Guglielmo Releases Statement Re: Approval of No New Tax Republican Budget

September 16, 2017

“I am happy to report that this budget provides for the start of relief for homeowner’s with crumbling foundations.”

HARTFORD, Conn. – Today State Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-Stafford) released the following statement regarding the General Assembly’s approval of the Republican Budget. A budget that increases education funding, funds core social services, includes substantial structural changes and provides relief for homeowner’s with crumbling foundations.

“This is a great budget, a budget that doesn’t include new taxes, but actually reduces them. It also provides relief to those in Eastern Connecticut who are dealing with the heart-breaking problem of crumbling foundations,” said Sen. Guglielmo. “This budget establishes a crumbling foundations agency to distribute grants for replacement foundations, sets aside bonding money and hires independent adjusters to settle claims.”

“This budget also takes the first steps in addressing our state’s fiscal crisis, it sets us on a responsible course and I commend those who had the courage to stand up for the future of our state,” said Sen. Guglielmo.

The Republican, No New Tax Budget, now heads to the desk of Governor Malloy for his signature.
