September 15, 2017

HARTFORD, Conn. – Today State Senator L. Scott Frantz (R-Greenwich) released the following statement regarding the State Senate approval of the Senate Republican Budget. A budget that increases education funding, funds core social services, prioritizes transportation and includes substantial structural changes – all without raising new taxes.

“Today is a momentous day for the state of Connecticut, a day when rational ideas won the majority of support,” said Sen. Frantz. “I would like to commend my colleagues who had the courage to take steps to put Connecticut on a new path of fiscal responsibility. This budget protects our children, protects those in need and includes significant municipal mandate relief. I was proud to cast my vote in the affirmative today, as I believe that this budget sets the right priorities to make our state a better place to live and work.”

“With the New Lebanon School project still alive, the Republican Budget now heads to the House of Representatives for a vote, where I am optimistic the budget will be passed due to the great work of the delegation,” said Sen. Frantz.
