State Senator Henri Martin (R-31) today praised passage of the Senate Republican budget proposal by the Senate. The budget creates a new state education funding formula, provides funding for municipalities, and does not include new taxes.

“This has been a long and difficult session and special session for the General Assembly. Throughout the entire process, I advocated for what I believe are the best interests of my constituents and the best interests of the State of Connecticut as a whole,” Sen. Martin said. “I believe the Senate passage of this budget is the first step toward putting our state on the path of fiscal stability, responsibility, and recovery.”

The budget now moves to the House of Representatives for a vote.

Sen. Martin represents the communities of Bristol, Harwinton, Plainville, Plymouth and Thomaston.
