On June 4, State Senator Henri Martin (R-31) and Representative William A. Petit, Jr. (R-22) attended the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Plainville resident Jarred Karal.

“It’s such an honor to attend this ceremony for a tremendous young man like Jarred,” Sen. Martin said. “His dedication to the Boy Scouts and his community set a wonderful example for his peers and other scouts who aspire to the highest rank of Eagle Scout.”

For his Eagle Scout project, Jarred built home and visitor dugouts at a local baseball field that has never had dugouts.

“Jarred exemplifies that highest calling of the Boy Scouts, which is to give back to the community,” Rep. Petit said. “It was a pleasure seeing Jarred receive this honor, to hear about his great accomplishments at our local Little League field and attend this special ceremony.”

Only about 5 percent of Boy Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

Sen. Martin represents the communities of Bristol, Harwinton, Plainville, Plymouth, and Thomaston.

Rep Petit serves the communities of Plainville and New Britain.
