Sen. Suzio Updates Cheshire Rotary
May 8, 2017Sen. Len Suzio (center) chats with Cheshire Rotary Immediate Past President David Schumacher (right) and Cheshire Rotary President Ellen McKinley (left) prior to the Rotary’s May 4 dinner meeting at The Waverly Inn. Suzio has endorsed a no tax hike state budget plan which increases education funding while enacting a cap on state spending and bonding. Suzio successfully worked to scuttle the Malloy administration’s controversial plan to spend $300,000 of taxpayer money to study a potential mileage tax. He is also working to create a state Citizens In Need account to pay for social services that have been reduced or eliminated due to state budget cuts. Through Suzio’s plan, taxpayers may make voluntary contributions to a Citizens In Need account and be eligible for a 200 % deduction toward the calculation of their taxable income for state income tax purposes. Suzio represents Cheshire, Meriden, Middlefield, Middletown and Rockfall. He can be reached at [email protected] or call 800-842-1421. On the web:www.SenatorSuzio.com and www.cheshirerotary.org .
