Senator Guglielmo Comments on Republican Proposed Budget

April 27, 2017

HARTFORD, Conn. – Today State Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-Stafford), released the following statement regarding the proposed Legislative Republican Budget, “A Confident Connecticut.”

“Today I stood with my Republican colleagues and unveiled a budget proposal, a proposal that creates stability for towns and does not rely on tax increases,” said Sen. Guglielmo. “It also rejects the proposed fee hike for pistol permits, increases funding for Fire Training Schools, provides funding for resident troopers – where the governor completely eliminated the funding, and restores funding for veterans’ headstones and burial expenses.”

“This is a common sense, responsible approach that restores the $200 property tax credit for those with dependents and the elderly, and ultimately streamlines government,” said Sen. Guglielmo. “I am pleased to stand behind this budget proposal, a budget that creates predictability for our business community and a proposal that doesn’t financially burden hard-working Connecticut residents who just want to exercise their constitutional rights and freedoms.”
