Attention CT highway travelers….

March 7, 2017

The Connecticut Department of Transportation says there will no longer be any available toilet facilities or portable toilets at highway rest areas in Danbury, Southington, Willington, Wallingford, Middletown and North Stonington.

I have written to DOT, noting my concerns about public safety, public health and sanitation at Connecticut’s highway rest stops.
And I posed a simple question:

Why doesn’t DOT take the $300,000 it intends to spend from its reserves to study a potential Big Brother-style Mileage Tax and instead put that money toward keeping rest stop toilet facilities open?

Please email me your thoughts at [email protected] and sign my online petition to de-fund the state’s study of a mileage tax at: http://ctsenrepublic.wpengine.com/2017/02/sign-the-petition-de-fund-the-ct-mileage-tax-study/#.WL2YdoKQxjo .

Thank you!
