Help Keep Millstone Operating

February 3, 2017

On Tuesday February 7 the state’s Energy & Technology Committee will hold a public hearing on a proposal to help keep Millstone Nuclear Power Station operating.

This is an opportunity to bring all ideas to the table so that we can collaborate on the best way to support state energy needs.

Senate Bill No. 106 would allow Millstone to bid on state contracts and sell power directly to the state, supporting Millstone as it adjusts to changing trends and help our state continue to build the bridge we need to a future that embraces renewable energy and protects ratepayers.

Millstone is a tremendous asset to Connecticut, providing over half the power that people use in our state every day. It also provides southeastern Connecticut with jobs and is an engine of economic growth for the entire state. Ensuring Millstone stays open is vital to Connecticut’s economy and energy consumers.

Those who wish to testify in person may attend the public hearing on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in Room 1D of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
