Senator Boucher Urges Fairfield County Nonprofits to Register for Day of Giving
January 20, 2017State Senator Toni Boucher (R-26) today reminded nonprofit organizations in Fairfield County that they have until February 1 to register for the annual Giving Day. Fairfield County’s Community Foundation named March 9 as the day of philanthropy that will benefit local charities.
“The Day of Giving is a wonderful opportunity for local nonprofits to raise awareness about who they are and what they do, as well as secure funding for programs,” Sen. Boucher said. “The Foundation also does a great job of helping nonprofits develop skills to attract new supporters and get the most from their fundraising efforts.”
In addition to training, Sen. Boucher said the Foundation is also giving nonprofits participating in Giving Day the opportunity to win monetary prizes throughout the day.
“Last year, Giving Day raised more than $1.2 million for 410 nonprofit organizations,” she said.
Nonprofits that want to register for Giving Day, or individuals who are interested in learning more can visit Fairfield County’s Community Foundation website at https://fcgives.org/.
Sen. Boucher represents the communities of Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.
