DMV Commish Works to Restructure Floundering State Agency
May 10, 2016Commissioner Bzdyra has announced that he is seeking to restructure the DMV in order to improve service and reduce wait times. The restructuring will occur on May 16th and will only involve current staff.
The Commissioner hopes that by reorganizing the DMV will be better able to service Connecticut’s residents in a professional and timely manner.
A Project Management Center for Excellence will be created within the department and will focus overseeing important projects undertaken by the agency.
A Chief Operating Officer position will be created and will oversee branch operations, driver regulations, vehicle and business regulations, commercial vehicle safety, and specialized services.
With just 45 days on the job, this new Commissioner has a long way to go in order to restore the public’s confidence in the DMV. Along with this reorganization a strong focus needs to be on cleaning up the technical mess that is the computer system upgrade.
Time and my constituents will tell if the changes being made will have the effect that is needed at the DMV.
Please continue to reach out to my office with any issues you face at the DMV.
