Sen. Rob Kane (right) leads state lawmakers and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman (left) in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at the start of the Apr. 27 session of the Connecticut State Senate. Sen. Kane represents Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Middlebury, Oxford, Roxbury, Seymour, Southbury, Washington, Watertown and Woodbury. The Deputy Minority Leader Pro Tempore and Caucus Chairman, Sen. Kane serves as the lead Republican senator on the legislative panel which oversees state government spending. Sen. Kane and Republican legislators recently unveiled an alternative state budget which contains no tax or fee hikes while restoring funding for hospitals, local education, and services for vulnerable residents.
