Speaking Out for CT Hospitals and Healthcare at State Capitol

Sen. Tony Hwang (right) joined Norwalk Hospital’s Director of Clinical Operations in the Emergency Department Lorraine Salavec, RN (left), representatives from the Western Connecticut Health Network and healthcare professionals from across the state on Mar. 16 to mark “Hospital Day” at the State Capitol and to urge Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to restore budget cuts to Connecticut hospitals.

Hwang noted that the governor’s budget plan would require painful cuts in vital healthcare services to vulnerable individuals, including to mental health and safety net services. Hwang and other advocates noted that if the cuts are not restored, the ability of hospitals to deliver high-quality patient care will be reduced and jobs will be lost.

Sen. Hwang represents Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston and Westport. On the web: www.senatorhwang.com and www.wchn.org .
