Sen. Tony Hwang on Mar. 9 joined with the Friends of Sherwood Island and environmental advocates from across Connecticut to mark State Parks Day at the State Capitol.

Discussions focused on ways to preserve, protect and enhance Connecticut’s state parks, including the state’s oldest state park, Sherwood Island State Park.

This year, Sen. Hwang is part of a first-of-its-kind effort to amend the state Constitution to better ensure protection of state-owned forests, parks, farmland and other conservation lands.

Sen. Hwang represents Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston and Westport. On the web: www.senatorhwang.com , www.friendsofsherwoodisland.org , www.friendsctstateparks.org , www.ctwoodlands.org , www.ct.gov/deep/sherwoodisland .
