Sen. Paul Formica (left) welcomed 2016 American Honey Princess Tabitha Mansker from the American Beekeeping Federation (center) and Connecticut Beekeepers Association President Steve Dinsmore of East Lyme (right) to the State Capitol on Mar. 16 to mark Connecticut Agriculture Day. Formica and state lawmakers spent time with small businesses to raise awareness about the important role agriculture plays in driving the state’s economy.

The Connecticut Beekeepers Association has been serving Connecticut since 1891. Its purpose is to increase public awareness of the importance of honeybees for Connecticut agricultural crops and the environment and to promote and support all beekeepers and their local organizations. The Connecticut Beekeepers Association is celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2016. For more information, visit www.ctbees.com and www.abfnet.org .
