Fasano: No Technical Glitch with UConn Contract

March 4, 2016

Hartford – Senate Minority Leader Len Fasano (R-North Haven) released the following statement regarding reports that UConn will be withdrawing its Professional Employees Association contract from the General Assembly due to a ‘technical glitch’ in the contract. This ‘glitch’ is in reference to an error in the index, which was then corrected on March 2 (see attached). This type of submission revision is common practice.

“The only ‘technical glitch’ is that the Democrats don’t want to vote on the contract. This is a convenient excuse for legislative Democrats to get them out of taking a vote on this contract we all know is a bad deal for Connecticut,” said Fasano.

“This is the same dance we see Democrats and union leaders go through every time they want to avoid standing up and answering to the people of this state. I just worry that this same contract will be held and won’t come up again until after the elections in November, when there’s less public pressure to vote down this contract.”
