CT College Tuition Hikes Are Unfair (Waterbury Republican-American)

March 24, 2016

The tuition increase has students of the four regional universities and 12 community colleges paying for the Democrat-led state government’s repeated failures to properly balance its budget in recent years, said Sen. Robert J. Kane, R-Watertown, the ranking Senate Republican on the Appropriations Committee, and a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.

He said it is doubly unfair because some many of the students are from Connecticut.
“They are already feeling the pressure of a difficult economy. Now, we’re adding to their burden,” Kane said.
