Fasano, McLachlan Join Call for Observers at Bridgeport Polls

Senate Minority Leader Len Fasano (R-North Haven) and Senator Michael McLachlan (R-Danbury), Ranking Member of the General Assembly’s Government Administration and Elections Committee, sent the attached letter to Secretary of the State Denise Merrill regarding requests to send observers to Bridgeport polls during Tuesday’s election to proactively monitor election activities.

The letter states: “As state legislators, including the Ranking Member of the Government Administration and Elections Committee, it is our responsibility to make sure that our democratic elections process operates without bias or error and in accordance with state statutes and regulations. Elections are a fundamental part of the democratic process we must strive to protect. Therefore, a request by any candidate, no matter their party affiliation, should always be taken seriously when they are seeking help to ensure the integrity of the election system. In light of this, we echo the requests made of your office to send observers to the polls in Bridgeport during Tuesday’s election.”
