GOP reminder: They voted against the budget

To the Editor:

We want to highlight an important point made in the Bristol Press’s June 6 editorial. [“State has a second chance to become business friendly”]

Republicans all voted “no” to raising taxes on lower and middle income families. Republicans all voted “no” to raising taxes on businesses.

Democrats passed the bill anyway, not taking seriously the objections of some of the state’s most important companies.

We encourage greater Bristol voters to ask their state senators and state representatives how they voted on the budget bill.

We also urge Bristol Press readers to call Gov. Malloy today at (800) 406-1527 and simply tell him three words: “Veto this budget.”
