Oswegatchie Hills Land Swap Moves Ahead

May 15, 2015

Hartford, CT – State Senator Paul Formica (R-East Lyme) released the following statement today re: a memorandum of understanding signed this week between the town of East Lyme and Landmark Development for a land swap involving Oswegatchie Hills a one mile stretch of untouched land on the coast of the Niantic River in Connecticut.

“As the former East Lyme First Selectman I spent time supporting efforts to preserve Oswegatchie Hills. This memorandum of understanding is the foundation for what will hopefully turn into an equitable solution for everyone. As a State Senator, I have been and will continue reaching out to local, state and federal officials in an effort to help find land to ultimately preserve the hills. I am very happy the developer is willing to work with the town and I look forward to the day when a final deal is signed.”
