Nuclear Engineering Partnership Honored in Senate

Hartford, CT – State Senator Paul Formica (R-East Lyme) joined Senator Cathy Osten (D-Sprague) in congratulating Three Rivers Community College student, Ryan Garrity and his Professor James Sherrard, along with Dominion – Millstone Power for their successful public private partnership surrounding the community college’s Nuclear Engineering Technology Program.

“I commend the participants and this public private partnership, to provide opportunities for our young people. This will help them have the ability to get a job and to stay in Connecticut. I’m grateful to be here and honor them for their service,” remarked Sen. Formica.

Professor James R. Sherrard, Professor of Nuclear Engineering Technology. B.S., U.S. Coast Guard Academy; M.S.N.E., M.S.N.A., Nav. E., Massachusetts Institute of Technology; M.S.M.E., University of Connecticut; M.S.N.S., Catholic University of America; P.E., Maryland, and Ryan Garrity, who graduated on a Dominion scholarship for the program were honored with an official state of Connecticut citation.
