Tomorrow’s the Day! Please Join Me for a Bone Marrow Drive

April 20, 2015

Did you know that every 4 minutes, a baby, child or adult is diagnosed with a blood cancer like leukemia?

Many of these patients need a bone marrow transplant to survive. And when they don’t have a suitable match from someone in their family, they turn to the Be The Match Registry.

That’s where we can help. Be The Match is always looking to add donors to its registry, and especially to diversify its list of donors. The latter is critical as donors and patients who share the same ancestry are most likely to match.

In support of Be The Match and all those suffering from blood cancers, I am proud to announce two bone marrow drives. The drives, which are open to the public, will take place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Barone Campus Center at Fairfield University, 1073 North Benson Road, Fairfield
  • Tuesday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the McMahon Student Commons at Sacred Heart University, 5151 Park Ave., Fairfield

Thank you in advance for your support. I hope to see you at one of the drives!
